For more than 50 years, Fraser Street Optometrists has been catering to the eye care needs of our clients in Tauranga. Our commitment to providing honest and quality service has grown us a patient base that has stayed loyal with us for as long as we can remember.
Today, Fraser Street Optometrists is a family practice with a father-daughter optometrist team. We’ve significantly grown our patient base and now cater to the needs of many patients from outside of Tauranga.

Meet our optometrists
Fraser Street Optometrists operates under the dynamic father-daughter duo of Albert and Carmé. Each optometrist has a membership in different optometry associations across the country. With their experience and extensive training in different fields of eye care, our practice has become one of the go-to eye care centres in Tauranga.
Albert de la Hunt
Albert qualified as an optometrist in 1978, after completing his studies in South Africa. In 1992, he continued his studies at the University of Manchester Institute for Science and Technology and was admitted to the College of Optometrists in London.
Moving his family to NZ, Albert joined Lynn Coker at Vision House Optometrists. Following Lynn’s retirement in 2006, he shifted the practice to its current premises and renamed it Fraser Street Optometrists. Albert strives to update his skills by attending regular conferences and training programmes.

Carmé Alexander
Carmé, Albert’s daughter, joined the practice in 2011 after completing her Bachelor of Optometry degree with Honours in Auckland. She is also therapeutically endorsed.
